The US was not putting pressure on Pakistan to capture Osama bin Laden, US Deputy Secretary of State for South Asia, Richard Armitage said here Thursday.
He said: 'At present no one knows about bin Laden's whereabouts.'
In an interview to a TV channel, Armitage said: 'Pakistan army can carry out its duty of guarding United Nation's mission in Iraq, in case it if agrees to do so.'
'Recent missile tests by two giant economies of South Asia - India and Pakistan can spark off virulent tension in the region,' he stated adding, 'cross-border terrorism has, however, abated considerably at LoC'.
Given the positive moves taken during last some months by India and Pakistan, future of Pak-India dialogue was bright, Armitage observed"
